What is Family Campus Day?
Family
Campus Day is designed to help families and/or mentors of juniors be better
prepared to help senior year college planning. Family Campus Day brings
participants together in one place to learn their next steps towards successful
college transition.
When and where will Family Campus Days take place?
February 20th
– Shawnee State University
March 12th
– Western Kentucky University
April 1st
– University of Louisville and Jefferson Community & Technical College
April 16th
– Berea College and Eastern Kentucky University (EKU is tentative)
April 23rd
– Northern Kentucky University
April 28th
– Western KY Community & Technical College and UK School of Engineering
What is the cost?
Family
Campus Days are provided at no cost for GEAR UP families and mentors working
with GEAR UP students. Transportation and lunch will be provided for students/parents attending their school's designated Family Campus Day. Transportation details will be provided one
month prior to each event.
What will Family Campus Day participants experience?
Program
essentials include: admissions,
financial aid, student support services, campus life, housing, campus and
residence hall tours, and student and parent panels.
How do I register?
To

form. Or, see your school’s college and
career advisor for a paper registration form.
What is the registration
deadline?
Registration
deadlines vary. Please contact your
school’s College and Career Advisor.

What is the Family Campus Day Contest?
The
Family Campus Day Contest encourages family and community conversations about
the realities of college planning. Through a series of activities participants
gain contest entries. The contest concludes on May 16th and the
winner will receive an iPad. Check out the contest flyer for more information.
What are the contest rules?
- Parent or guardian must attend Family Campus Day.
- Parent or guardian must complete brief 3-question survey on the registration form.
- While all adult participants are invited to engage in contest activities, only the parents and guardians of GEAR UP students are eligible to win.
